The list, not just the one job
Most people don't have one job — they have eleven. A door that won't latch, a wobbly handrail, a curtain rail that pulled out of the wall, a fence gate dragging on the ground, two shelves still in their box in the garage. Individually none is worth chasing a tradesperson for; together they're a weekend you never get around to.
Our handyman service is built for exactly that. Send us the list when you book, we'll allow the right amount of time, bring the materials and hardware likely to be needed, and work through it in one visit with one invoice at the end.
Fixing things so they stay fixed
The difference between a handyman job that lasts and one that fails in six months is nearly always the fixing. A shelf into plasterboard with the plastic plugs from the packet will pull out. The same shelf into the framing, or on properly rated hollow-wall anchors sized to the load, will outlast the house.
The same logic applies everywhere: a door that drags is usually a dropped hinge or a swollen jamb, not a door that needs planing; a leaking tap is a washer or a cartridge, not a new tapware set; a squeaking floorboard is a fixing problem. We diagnose the cause rather than treating the symptom.
What we cover
Interior work includes wall mounting of every kind, shelving and storage, door and window adjustment, lock and handle replacement, curtain rails and blinds, bathroom and kitchen fixtures, gib patching, filling and touch-up painting, and flat-pack assembly.
Exterior work includes gate and fence repairs, deck board replacement, weatherboard and trim repairs, gutter clearing, outdoor tap and hose fittings, letterbox and number installation, and general property tidy-up jobs. If a job needs a licensed electrician, plumber or building consent, we'll tell you clearly and can coordinate the right trade.
For landlords and businesses
We work with landlords, property managers and businesses on maintenance lists, tenancy changeovers and healthy homes preparation jobs. You get a written scope before we start, photos of completed work on request, and a GST invoice per property or per site to keep your accounting straightforward.
Regular maintenance rounds can be scheduled so small problems get picked up before they turn into repair bills or tenant complaints.
